ABOUT AORN INDIA

Uphold Dignity and Integrity of Operating Room Nurses

The Association of Operating Room Nurses, Mumbai, known as AORN, was established on September 13, 1999, to uphold the dignity and integrity of operating room nurses in all respects.

The Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) is a body, recognized by the Govt. of India under the Maharashtra Public Trust Act 1950, (Act No. XXIX of 1950) vide regn. no.: BBBSD/402 date: 11th April 2000.

AORN collaborates with professional and regulatory organizations as well as healthcare partners that support our mission. Ever since our inception, the association has expanded to include vibrant chapters in Varanasi, Vizag, Sangrur and Bangalore.

AORN represents the interest of perioperative nurses and provides education, standards and services that enable optimal outcomes for patients who undergo operative procedures and other invasive procedures.

To deliver world-class and safe nursing care, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and well-being.

Mission

To promote and advance excellent perioperative nursing care through professional and personal enhancement.

AORN INDIA

Objectives:

To advance and disseminate knowledge on operating room techniques, infection control, patient safety.

To develop professional standards to promote optimum peri-operative patient care.

To support and promote standards of peri-operative nursing practice.

To identify and meet professional needs.

To advise operating room nurses on issues and decisions affecting their practice.

Establish educational and research activities.

Establish and maintain links with other operating room.
